DWI

Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials

Prof. Andreas Herrmann

In the first funding period, the group focused on development of biomolecular and biohybrid functional nano- and microparticles, films and fibres with well-defined molecular structures over multiple length scales. This was achieved by a synergy between synthetic chemistry, molecular biology and soft matter physics.

In the second funding period, DWI together with IUF aim to build a research network connecting material safety with neurobiology and to develop infrastructure for future studies in neuroactive material exposure and ultrasound-responsive delivery platforms.
