Processing of High-Efficiency Perovskite Solar Cells From Green Solvents

Perovskite solar cells have achieved high performance through advances in compositional and interfacial engineering. However, they are typically processed using toxic solvents, posing environmental and health risks. We recently identified a theoretical method to screen green solvents for perovskite processing, which we now aim to expand by modeling solvent-precursor complexes involved in crystal formation. This will help identify solvents that both dissolve precursors and promote perovskite phase formation.
